We offer 2 double rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor each with a shower room with washbasin and wc. Our lovingly renovated townhouse looks out onto Place Garrigou (pictured above), a big square in the old part of town - directly opposite is the church and beyond that is a view of the mountains towards Andorra and Spain.
Rue Naugé winding its way down to the river.
The small picturesque town of Tarascon sur Ariege is not glitzy, ritzy, not the Riviera. It’s real, traditional France - not many tourists, lots of down-to-earth, everyday people doing what the French do so well - eating, drinking and generally enjoying life in the slow lane.
There’s a market down by the river on Wednesday and Saturday mornings plus other markets in nearby towns and villages on other days of the week.
There are many activities on offer in the area to suit all ages and tastes - walking, climbing, cycling, bird watching, speleology, sightseeing (Cathar castles, museums, chateaux) etc.
Alternatively, one can just sit and watch the world go by!
Tarascon has music festivals during the summer months and celebrates the transhumance in May and September (moving animals to and from the mountain pastures).
There are many other fetes to entertain too!
Fete du feu de Saint Jean.
The Tour de France cycle race goes through the area normally in July.
